During AUG, SEP – we had to slow down our construction work on the build, as our fund raising efforts were lagging behind our needs to purchase the material needed for the build.
Still we were able to complete many of the items and managed to have more than enough work for our volunteers during this time.
In OCT-2011 – The Fuller Foundation made another significant contribution to this project. These funds will allow us to accelerate the build work and drive to closure of construction.
During OCT, NOV, DEC – with the help of our regular volunteer construction crew and numerous other helpers. We have made significant progress.
From mid summer to early winter – we have completed;
Insulation installed
Electrical wiring installed
Plumbing installed
Heating system installed
Septic system installed and inspected
Drywall installed
Drywall taped and plastered
Installation of interior doors and door and window trim.
Painting of interior
Started the installation of laminate flooring upstairs
We are well on our way to finishing the construction activities to allow for completion in late JAN-2012
———————————————————————–
Now with sufficient funds from our end of year appeal letter to Town of Boylston residents and the continued support of the Fuller Foundation.
We are driving to a completion of construction work by end of JAN 2012. Which we now will achieve.
The ongoing construction work that has been completed or will be in the next week;
Heating system inspected and turned on – YES heat in the house, finally!
Electrical and Plumbing inspected and turned on
Kitchen and Bath cabinets installed
Kitchen appliances being installed as we talk
Exterior work included the construction of 2 retaining walls
Exterior grading
Installation of ceramic tile in kitchens and bathroom floors.
To be done in the next week;
Finish tile work, finish installing light fixtures, sinks and plumbing fixtures
Install laminate flooring downstairs
Do a major cleaning
With the winter weather – we will have to come back and finish two last construction items;
Landscaping of the site
Paving the driveway and parking spots (we have spread gravel for the winter).
Construction activities -
We were able to arrange a donation of sheetrock for installing the wall board.
With the help of our many corporate sponsor build days and general volunteers we have been making significant progress.
Work is ongoing installing the drywall. Next steps will be taping the seams and plastering.
Interior wall insulation and ceiling insulation was installed.

Fund Raising – as with all Habitat for Humanity projects we need to raise dollars to be able to purchase all the supplies that we are using during the construction. Come and help us by attending some or all of our events.

All of us on the Boylston Habitat project – want to extend a big thank you to the 73 women that came out to help support the build.
We would also like to thank Whole Foods and O’Connors for supplying our lunches, and all the people from our Boylston Project team that helped with getting the food, setting up and cleaning up.
This was very successful fund-raiser for the Boylston Project – we raised almost $9500 dollars.
This gives us the dollars we need to keep purchasing material for our project – most of these contributions have gone to purchase the heating system supplies and installation.
Boylston Local Project Team
Construction activities – We have been really moving along
With our many volunteers we have just about finished the installation of the siding on the duplex, interior walls are up, and furring strips for the ceilings have also been installed.
With our professional volunteers in (plumping and electrical) – they have basically finished the plumping and wiring work.
Upcoming work will be painting of the exterior siding, construction of our front deck/porch entrance at the front door area.
Installing insulation into the 2×6 exterior walls, and Drywall.
We want to thank again all of the individuals and groups that have volunteered their time and energy to help during construction.
